SNCS offer a service for private clients who may require additional support or nursing care in their own homes, a residential setting or a nursing home where additional support or companionship is required.
assistance with getting up from bed
use of a hoist or lifting techniques to help with getting out of bed
washing, assisting with bathing and/or strip wash, shaving, hair care, skin care, denture and mouth care
help with dressing, toileting, including necessary cleaning and safe disposal of waste
toileting may also include help with managing incontinence and menstrual care where required
reporting any changes in the service users incontinence
prompting people to take medicines like eye and ear drops and inhalers as well as prescription medication
recording medication taken by signing the medicine chart
being aware of special dietary requirements
preparing meals/snacks and helping with eating and drinking including associated kitchen cleaning and hygiene
ensuring the home is safe, comfortable, clean and at the right temperature - the lighting of coal fires is part of a home care assistants role
changing linen and making beds
