Welcome to the first issue of our monthly
newsletter. With its introduction it is our aim to keep all
our aim to keep all our members informed and up to date with
all aspects of changes in the Agency including training events
and seminars.
This will be a joint effort between
management and members therefore everyone is encouraged to
contribute their ideas and comments.
Payroll and Payment days:
The payroll department has moved to 104 Woolwich Road, London
SE10 0LE TELEPHONE:0208 269 2777. Please note that your
timesheet must reach the accounts department on Mondays before
10am. Late submissions will be processed for the following
week. Also remember to summit the correct copies i.e. the
white and the pink, and leaving the yellow copy on the ward
and keep the green copy for yourself.
Pay Queries - If you have any
queries about your pay, please call the payroll department.
The office hours are 10:00am to17:00pm Monday to Friday.
Please do not call during the evenings or at weekends with
payment queries.
Uniforms - All Star Nurses must
be presentable on duty at all times. If you do not have star
nursing uniform please collect one from the Deptford office.
Please wear your uniform PIN card. Please ensure that you
always carry your uniform.
PIN Card - when you are booked
for duty. The Hospital management team do carry out random
checks.
Identity Badges - This is
part of your uniform and must be worn at all times whilst on
duty. If your Identity Badge has expired please contact the
office for renewal.
CRB- Security is becoming an
issue of great importance. Hospital Management are asking
staff to show their security Disclosure check certificates.
These checks can be carried out at our Agency. From 22
September 03 all Nurses must have a CRB Check before they are
booked for duties in Hospitals.
BONUSES Introduce a friend
to Star Nursing Agency and you will receive a bonus. Bonus
will vary according to qualifications. Speak to Vanessa for

URGENTLY NEEDED - Midwives
are urgently needed for jobs in south east and Kent Area
introduce a midwife and you will receive your bonuses. Call
Vanessa for details.

MANDATORY TRAINING
The agency will now be providing mandatory
training in Manual handling and Basic Life Support to all
staff who have not had their training. The training will be
conducted at our training center 104 Woolwich Road London SE10
OLE. Training sessions will be starting from 15th September
2003

It is very important that staff attend these
courses in order to update the necessary skills. For staff
that have already completed their training else where please
submit your certificates as soon as possible.
STAFF APPRAISAL
We are currently carrying our staffs
appraisal every Tuesdays. If you have not had one as yet why
not give Joan a call to book an appointment. Holidays - Please
note that you are entitled to holiday pay after working
thirteen consecutive weeks. Once you have qualified for
holiday entitlement you must take your holiday within your
holiday year. You can not carry leave over to the next holiday
year. If you are unsure of your holiday entitlement please
contact Vanessa in Accounts Department on 0208 269 2777
Remember you must give two weeks notice for
each week that you want to take as holiday , if you do not
work thirteen weeks consecutively you lose the entitlement.
MORE WORK
Why didn't you call me? Why don't you give me
any work? Why do you give more work to others? Can you
remember asking any of the above questions recently? Maybe I
have the answer. When shifts are being allocated, it is not
done by picking the favorites. Allocations are done on
